Wineskin Alternative Mac Catalina
Note: I know this is an old thread, and am just posting to help anyone else who stumbles upon this thread.
First of all: Wine (just plain wine) is NOT available for Mac, so that leave you with Wineskin, WineBottler, PlayOnMac, or CrossOver.
WineBottler packages Windows-based programs snugly into OS X app-bundles. No need to install emulators or operating systems - WineBottler uses the great open-source tool Wine to run the binaries on your Mac. I finally updated my macOS to Catalina recently and did all the steps to update osu to Catalina supported one. Everything is working perfectly, except I can't open the osu beatmaps and add new songs. Whenever I try to open the beat maps I downloaded on osu, it says 'There's no Windows program configured to open this type of file'.(I will attach. On Catalina you can use homebrew to install either wine-stable or wine-devel (to see all available options run brew search wine): At the moment of writing wine-stable was. Wineskin Winery is a tool for Wineskin. It is the only downloadable part of Wineskin needed. Manage and download Engines, or even custom build engines from Wine source code.
Hello so i was wondering when will Wine bottler be working on macOS Catalina and Big Sur a statement from the wine HQ said that wine will no longer be worked on for mac due to macOS Catalina droping 32-bit support however if wine boltter can be updated to 64-bit that could help and can run 64 bit windows apps but not 32 bit if it can all be fixed.
Wineskin and WineBottler are intended for creating wrappers, which is basically converting it to a Mac application.
Wineskin gives you more customization over your wrapper.
WineBottler also comes with a system that lets you just run any exe on mac just like that.
PlayOnMac lets you download and run supported apps easily, but isn't good for just any exe.
CrossOver is paid software.

If all you want to do is run exes with right-click>Open With, than install WineBottler.
